This is a simple text counter written in PHP that can be used for the whole website or individual pages. It creates the counter file if it doesn already exist. Each time someone visits, the counter is incremented by one - but only if that visitor is not the last visitor. If you check your site after someone visits, it will not increment unless you have a dynamic IP. This method of "filtering" your own IP gives you a realistic count of visitors as opposed to other counter file examples provided elsewhere.
