dypicgen allows you to easily create dynamic picture galleries. It features template-driven easy customization for the look and feel of your site. After you have configured the initialization file, just point it to a root directory and dypicgen takes care of the rest. dypicgen also allows for captions for each of your images and paginating of galleries. All of this can be altered by using DCI. A web based interface that allows you to alter everything from one location. Also bundled with dypicgen is allThumbs. Using Java, you point allThumbs to a directory and it will create thumbnail versions of your images for you.

EIGHT (Easy Image Gallery) is a Perl script that does most of the gallery maintenence work for you. All you need to do is create the gallery directory and load the images and thumbnails and eight will link them up and display the thumbs on index pages. EIGHT also includes an integrated slideshow (using javascript) and a simple guestbook. Eight now includes support for mutliple galleries! You can also create captions for each image and can personalize each gallery if you create the gallerys .dat file.

HTMLThumbnail creates index pages of the graphic file content of directories on Unix based web servers. It generates real thumbnail images (not just mis-sizing the images) that are typically around 1-2% of the byte count of the originals (thus letting you see them 50 - 100 times as fast). It works with both JPEG and GIF images, supports incremental change updating to allow easy adding of new images (or modifying of old ones) without wasting a lot of time regenerating the index for every image. It also supports optional linking to the original images, drop shadows, rotation of the final icon, and image borders. Essentially all setting are command line adjustable.

IDS is a CGI written in Perl that generates a photo album website on the fly. All you need to provide are the images and (optionally) text descriptions. As you add new pictures, they will appear automatically. Each image will be displayed with information such as image type, file size, image size, and date uploaded. If EXIF information is embedded in the image (shutter speed, aperature, focal length, etc.), it will be displayed. It will create thumbnail preview images for JPEG, PNG, and GIF images. It will also recognize and display QuickTime movies, MPEG movies, and MP3 files. IDS uses HTML templates, so you can easily customize the look of your site.
